Who are your heroes?

Reblogged purely to make Amanda smile.

This is the best thing that was ever made so just turn off the planet now because we can all go home. Thank you, it’s been a great show.

The pinnacle of movie making has arrived. I present to you this masterpiece from Birdemic 2: The Resurrection.

Space Oddity (by Chris Hadfield)

This is it. The internet has been won by Commander Hadfield.

I am a new Blue. I have admitted that before. I have stated before how the parallels between Manchester City and my beloved Texas Rangers, as well as my love of Manchester bands, led me to pick them as my club of choice. Roberto Mancini has been a vital part of the club’s success in recent years. Much like Ron Washington in Texas, no one would have dreamed of lifting trophies or playing on the grand stages before he came along. He has won the love and support of almost the entire fan base.

If the rumors are true, Mancini is on his way out as manager of City. While it is a sad time for the club and it’s supporters, we will never forget what he has done. He has drawn up the blueprint for success for many years to come. For that, we shall always be grateful.

The above video sums it up nicely.

I made a Manchester-centric mix in advance of this Saturday’s FA Cup final. It starts with The Clash. Yes, I know, not a Manchester band, but the song is “London Calling”. I thought it appropriate.

The Clash - London Calling
Oasis - F—kin’ in the Bushes
Inspiral Carpets - This Is How It Feels
Happy Mondays - 24 Hour Party People
The Stone Roses - Fool’s Gold
James - Sit Down
Doves - Catch the Sun
Elbow - Fallen Angel
Chameleons - Mad Jack
New Order - Temptation
The Charlatans - The Only One I Know
The Smiths - Panic
